Printing In Strubi

This document describes the various printing facilities available within the Division and how you can use them from a networked PC, Macintosh or Unix system. Each printer carries its network name displayed on a yellow label.

Double click to add the printer

Use your MSD IT username/password to authenticate

Windows laptop, you need to connect vpn.medsci.ox.ac.uk in order to add these three printers and print.

 

 

Printing from a Mac (OS X)

  1. Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to connect to vpn.medsci.ox.ac.uk
  2. web browser to http://iprint.imsu.ox.ac.uk
  3. Download and install iprint
  4. Browse down until you see

    Double click to add the printer

  6. Use your MSD IT username/password to authenticate

Printing under Unix

There is no installation procedure required when printing from our linux computers. Simply use

lp -d printername filename

to print text and Postscript files. More detail on the lp command and it's options can be found by entering

man lp

at a shell prompt.
