copying data to Bowmore
If your data were collected using the FalconIII, this should be located on the ‘Offload server’ on a given microscope computer. If your data were collected using the K2 camera, data are written to the 'Offload server' on the K2 PC. In future, an automated transfer script will be running in the background that automatically transfers your data to Bowmore, provided you adhere to the file naming conventions below.
Copied data will be moved to /data/Bowmore/<Glacios || Krios>/<PI>/.
This script is still currently under construction. As a temporary measure, please email support@strubi.ox.ac.uk with your folder name which must adhere to the convention below such that the transfer script can be manually started.
Note that we will be deleting data from the Offload server on a weekly basis.
------------K2 data-------------
Top level directory...
<yearmonthday><samplename><experimenter initials>_<PI surname as on bowmore>
e.g.
20210322_sarscov2BrazilSpike_HMED_stuart
Within this top level directory, create a 'Frames' and a 'screening' folder.
-Frames contains:
Movies in compressed tif format.
Gain reference (.dm4) and defects (.txt). TO BE TRANSFERRED ONLY.
-Screening contains:
Any images (png, jpg, tif, mrc) that the user wishes to keep. This MUST be deleted by the user after transfer and will be removed by EM staff a week after creation.
-Anything that the user DOES NOT need to be transfered should be written to the top level.
-----------FIII data-----------
Top level directory (if running an atlas)...
Atlas_<yearmonthday><samplename><experimenter initials>_<PI surname as on bowmore>
->Select this directory when setting up your EPU collection.
->THEN name the EPU collection the following...
EPU_<yearmonthday><samplename><experimenter initials>_<PI surname as on bowmore>
Top level directory (if screening)...
->For general screening images...use this convention for a TOP LEVEL directory:
screen_<yearmonthday><samplename><experimenter initials>_<PI surname as on bowmore>
-----------------------------------
ANOTHER NOTE! EPU creates two folders, one inside the directory selected during data processing set up, and the other in the top-level directory. One of these folders contains the grid square information only, and the other contains your micrographs in mrc format. For FIII data collections, only frames from EPU folder will be transferred.
PLEASE delete your data from the microscope computer when you are confident that this has copied across.
