Dr Louise Bird is a senior post-doc working on the development of the OPPF molecular biology technology which she also teaches to students and other visitors to our lab. Louise’s research interests are focused on the construction of libraries of human protein domains for structural and functional studies.
Dr Jon Diprose is a senior post-doc working on informatics. He currently looks after all the computing requirements of the OPPF and contributes his expertise to the design of PiMS as part of Robert Esnouf's group.
Dr Joanne Nettleship is a senior post-doc with a background in chemistry who has set up and manages the protein purification and mass spectrometry facilities in the OPPF. Jo’s research interests include the production/analysis of glycoproteins and the cloning and expression of antibody fragments as co-crystallization reagents.
Nahid Rahman has extensive cell culture experience and manages the day-to-day operation of the OPPF tissue culture facilities. Working with Jo, Nahid is responsible for production of proteins in mammalian and insect cells.
Anil Verma works on all aspects of the OPPF protein production and crystallization pipeline and is also responsible for laboratory management.
Thomas Walter looks after the day-to-day operation of the high-throughput crystallization facility and is working part time on a D.Phil.
